DiversiGene™ Platform

AvidBiotics’ DiversiGene™ technology platform is based on a diversity generating mechanism, known as Diversity Generating Retroelements (DGR), used by Bordetella phage to provide a survival advantage in a competitive and ever-changing environment.

The DiversiGene™ system is simple, elegant and transportable to genes and proteins other than those related to its origin. The typical DGR can generate trillions of focused protein variations. Thus, it offers numerous applications for protein engineering and the creation of diversified libraries of protein scaffolds for use in the creation of therapeutic and prophylactic drugs, diagnostics and binding reagents. AvidBiotics plans to apply this technology to both its Micacide™ and Avidocin™ protein platforms, as well as leverage its value through collaborations and licensing arrangements.
